Dr. Paula Sims
About Me
Welcome! A dedicated professional committed to helping people improve their quality of life and realize their potential. With over 30 years of experience across various fields—ranging from social work and psychology to education and behavioral counseling- my mission is to support others through realistic, actionable advice and critical thinking. My approach is grounded in empathy, positive psychology, and a strong sense of social justice, all aimed at guiding you toward meaningful personal growth.
My journey started in the arts, with a focus on music and dance, before pursuing higher education in counseling and psychology. As a single mother and caregiver for my mother, there have been challenges. Earning a Master’s in Counseling and later a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, my belief in concepts of Positive Psychology aided my success in graduating with honors.
My career has included counseling and education with individuals and groups, including those with physical and mental health well-being concerns, and advocacy, programming and teaching for universities, non-profits, and corporate environments. All of which has also led me on a path to entrepreneurial self-employment as a behaviorist and writer. My hope is to share my experience to empower people in creating a strong path with a plan and offering motivation and positivity.
Today, my approach offers practical tools such as whole-person assessment, goal setting, visualization, meditation, and behavioral change strategies to help you navigate life's complexities. Whether you're looking for a structured plan or a more flexible approach, we can make lasting improvements across all areas of your well-being—physical, emotional, social, financial, and more.
Let’s take the next step in your journey, together. One grounded in realistic expectations and a commitment to personal growth. Explore my services to find the path that’s right for you.
